About Stewart

Welcome to my world of macro photography! I am passionate about capturing the intricate beauty that lies within the small and often overlooked aspects of the natural world. Through my lens, I reveal a hidden universe that exists right before our eyes, inviting you to appreciate the extraordinary details that are easily missed in our fast-paced lives.

From the delicate petals of a flower to the mesmerizing patterns on an insect’s wings, macro photography allows me to explore and share the wonders of the miniature world. Every subject I choose tells a unique story, and my goal is to bring that story to life through my images.

My journey into macro photography began In 2016 when I photographed a Zebra jumping spider in my back garden, since then I have been hooked on macro photography. I have a deep fascination for the intricate details found in nature. The ability to magnify these tiny elements and present them in larger-than-life proportions has always amazed me. I find inspiration in the smallest things and beauty in the tiniest creatures, textures, and patterns.

With each click of the shutter, I strive to capture the essence of the subject, preserving its intricate details and unique characteristics. Macro photography demands patience, focus, and a keen eye for detail. It requires me to slow down, observe, and truly connect with the world around me. It’s a form of meditation, a way to appreciate the extraordinary within the ordinary.

Through my work, I aim to inspire others to pause and marvel at the hidden beauty surrounding us. I believe that by showcasing the unseen aspects of nature, I can ignite a sense of wonder and appreciation for the incredible diversity that exists in our environment. There is so much to discover if we take the time to look closely.

As a macro photographer, I constantly seek out new subjects and explore different environments. Whether it’s the vibrant colors of a blooming flower, the intricate details of an insect’s anatomy, or the captivating textures of a plant, I am endlessly fascinated by the intricate tapestry of the natural world.

I invite you to join me on this journey of exploration and discovery. Through my photographs, I hope to transport you to a realm where the tiny becomes grand, the intricate becomes breathtaking, and the overlooked becomes a source of wonder. Thank you for visiting, and I look forward to sharing the beauty of the macro world with you.

Great Webinar! I couldn’t watch live as it was very early morning in Korea. I was curious to know what your macro presets are, Stewart. (Perhaps that can keep till the next Webinar). Thanks for the first-class presentation, with photos to match.

I think his presets are for sale on his website. I think they are Ps and Lr, but I’m not sure. It was a fun webinar - he gets a lot of engagement on his YT channel.

Thanks @Kris_Smith - I’ll check it out.

Wow, just watched it and wished I could have done it live to ask questions. Stewart’s images are amazing and remind me of National Geographic covers. Especially surprising were his hand held focus stacks, something I never would have even tried, but may give it a go now. Jumping spiders are so cool, can see them in the next Marvel Universe movie, lol. Thanks for having him on David.
