Image:Fall Colors Lilly Eagle Creek Park, Indianapolis IN

Description:Image was taken in October 2022 at Lilly Lake in Eagle Creek Park on the west side of Indianapolis. This was the fist fall in couple of years that the color of the leaves was good, in the previous few years an early frost, or freeze, too little or too much rain had minimized the brilliant colors. The image was taken with a Canon R, with a 24-105 L lens, at 24 mm, f18, 1/13 sec, ASA 200.

Specific Feedback Requested: any feedback on composition and editing.

Hi Ian,
that’s a wonderful autumn scene. I love the vibrant colors and the perfect reflection.

In my opinion the image could benefit from two little tweaks:

  1. Crop the image a little bit, so that the shoreline is centered exactly. This will support the effect of perfect reflection.
  2. Desaturate the blue tones a tiny bit, as they seem too strong to me.
