Image Description

Years ago, as I was making pictures of lovely flowers, my young daughter–perhaps tiring of all the “pretty pictures”-- said, “Dad why don’t you look more closely at the end-of-season flowers that are decaying…they might be interesting.” I found that the work of the fungi and insects was indeed interesting, if less lovely.

That’s really different! I like the composition and the vibrance of the color. You might consider desaturating the bit of green on the out of focus leaf in the upper left corner. There is also a light-toned spot in the upper right corner you could clone out. Both of those spots catch my eye. I like the textures in the leaf. Nice job!

Delton, I’m enjoying the contrast between the yellow/greens of what’s left of the leaf and the dark greens showing through the gaps. There’s good eye flow, left to right and down to the right corner. This photo need the viewer to spend some time looking and thinking, which I think is good.

Delton: I love the textures and colors. Like @Mark_Seaver says this invites close scrutiny and analysis and not a mere passing glance. Nicely done.>=))>

Preston, I will indeed desaturate the background leaf and tone down the upper right. Thank you

Bill, thank you. With autumn under way here, I’ll have more opportunities to find interesting leaves and flowers
