Transitions-Summer to Autumn

Image(s)

Image Description

This was my first time in Colorado during the fall color change. Luckily we timed it right and saw an amazing transition in the colors. I was stunned at how quickly the changes occurred in some areas, and in othersthe process was much slower. Even in this same valley were contrasts, in the aspens, between the bright yellow of autumn and the lingering greens of summer. To me it looks as if one generation is leading the way forward for another. Going back again next week to try to add to the portfolio.

Composition ideas. Tried to use leaading lines or layers vignetted by the sets of pine trees.
Color and tones? Still a challenge for me to get “right”

Nice job paring down the grand landscape to an eye-catching slice that captures the look and feel of the place. I like the layers moving through the image and the varying textures of the trees. The diagonal lines give a dynamic feel to the photo.

Marlin, you’ve caught a fine mix of similar colors, from the dark green evergreens to the bright yellow Aspens. The diagonal layers work well. The colors look fine.

@Chris_Baird , @Mark_Seaver , Thank you both. It was pretty amazing to watch how quickly the colors turned and more so to see sections so close to each other with such variation in color. Looking forward to another season.
