The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
I liked the way the kangaroos were nestled between the broken trees. Their colours blend in so well with the arid South Australian landscape.
Specific Feedback
I’m beginning to like more habitat with my wildlife images, but couldn’t decide if the looser crop worked any better than the cropped versions. I couldn’t have asked for a better frame for the kangaroos.
Technical Details
ISO 1000 150-600@600mm HH f6.3 1/500
Basic adjustments in ACR and into PS for a touch of noise reduction and a little taming of the background.

A really nice shot Glennie, I’m a fan of habitat in shots, it shows the animal in the context of its environment and can enhance the overall look of the shot. I think that it works really well here.
I usually use a 16:9 ratio to achieve this.
Gorgeous capture in wonderful soft light! I prefer the top version because it gives more prominence to the roos. But think you could remove the short branch at the top. The middle version is to my liking at the bottom edge – the OOF stuff isn’t bothering me and the looser crop there lets the bush on the right come to an end. Maybe clone out the bits of the branch there. Wonderful with any crop, though – their look is priceless!
The top cropped version really highlights the reds with that wonderful straight at you look. It is a wonderful image. I wouls agree with the comment about the small branch at the top (it is picky). But also in wildlife these days everyone wants to see more of the environment, where are they and what are they doing? The last image achieves that goal. It all depends on the eye of the viewer. Which ever way you crop it it is a beautiful photo of the animals.
Glennie, is ia an excellent image. The 'roos are wonderfully-framed by the tree and branches, their poses are excellent, and the environment sweet.
While I like the first for it’s larger look at the critters, I preferthe last one with more of the typical environment. In the last one, that little stub of a branch is a positive thing, imo.
A beautiful frame, my preference goes to the third frame for the simple reason that tree is providing a natural frame to the Kangaroos and bark of tree adds some more charater there.
