Wetlands Impressionism

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

Taken on Fenwick Island, DE, a place I have been spending a lot of time. It has offered me a whole new opportunity for creative work. This was taken after a storm. It was still a foreboding atmosphere and I hoped to capture it in the grasses

Specific Feedback

No specific areas, other than wondering about exposure level.

Love this Mario! While there certainly is a sense of a brooding mood here… it’s a bit of a stretch to relate to a storm and resulting atmosphere. Then again, obviously I wasn’t there to have that experience, so I totally get why you get the impression.

Not much to suggest for change or alternates. As an abstract, one could process this in many directions, but how you’re presented certainly does create some mood here. I like that you’ve kept the contrast and colors muted. Well done!

Thanks Lon. I guess you had to be there for the mood…

Mario, I’ve been enjoying your work and there’s a lot I like about this one.. In this one, though, my eye keeps roaming around and finding no particular place to rest. That’s just my reaction.
