What a wonder. They are so huge and they are such powerful fliers - that’s what this image conveys to me, the power of that bird. I love the bit of water on the breast. At least I think it’s water. The whites look clean and a little hot on the leading edges. Good texture on the face and bill. Oh that bill. Too bad the back edges of the wings get a little lost in the backdrop (is that a cypress in its fall colors?). Great catch.

Hi Allen, Great capture of this version of a flying fortress. The eye and wings to me are nice and sharp. Light is great. Thanks for sharing.

Good close-up look at the Pelican and it really pops against the background.
