Wild Clematis

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

I came across these about 3 weeks ago. In May they are not uncommon in Korea, and always this color in the wild. They had grown exactly in this position, forming an attractive pair.

Specific Feedback

This wild clematis prefers a very shady spot, so that made it difficult to get a decent exposure. As you can see from the EXIF details below, I played around quite a bit (I didn’t have flash with me). I’d like to know also if I managed the focus or not.

Technical Details

D500 + 105mm macro. 1/125 f25 ISO 5000 -1.67EV

In Lightroom I had to raise the exposure. Then in PS adjusted tonalities and sharpened with Noiseware.

Wonderful!! The whites have realistic detail and the BG greens are nicely subdued, in color, tonalities and soft focus. They suggest beautiful foliage without dominating.

These are really good Mike. You have nice detail and the whites are not overdone. The dark green BG really make the whites pop.

Beautiful detail and composition, Mike. I so enjoy seeing the wild life and flowers from your part of the world. Nicely done.
