As many of you are aware, MS will end support for Windows 10 beginning October 14, 2025.
If you are still running Win 10 you will no longer receive security updates through Windows Update.
If this applies to you, please note that Microsoft has just announced an Extension for Security Updates that will allow your PC to continue to get updates through October of 2026.
The link below will take you to the announcement along with how to get the extension.
If you have an older PC that is not compatible with Windows 11, this extension will give you time to either upgrade your current machine or purchase a new PC with Win 11.
Preston, Thanks for the information. I do have an older PC (Windows 10) that is not compatible with Windows 11. Last week I got the extension with no trouble downloading it. (and for free; not having to pay the $30.00).
@Jim_Gavin Same here. My PC (from Puget Systems) is 14 years old and still runs like a champ. So, at some point relatively soon, I’ll have to buy a new machine from Puget Systems.
I also have a Puget Systems laptop that’s also old and not compatible with Win 11, so I’ll have get the security extension for it, as well.
