Winner takes it all

Watching the eagles feed on a dead deer it was very a clear order in which they ate. Big eagles first and the younger ones had to patiently wait. The ravens were braver but when they came too close the big eagle spred its wings as a warning.

Spectacular timing – that wingspread is powerful and the youngster waiting tells a good story! I wonder if the raven could have been a nice warm snack…

@Diane_Miller thanks a lot for your comment. All the young eagles showed much respect for the older one but the ravens is another story. They picked on the eagles tail feathers and then jumped and grabbed some meat before escaping to safety.
