That one tree looks like it’s bowed but not broken, still standing strong while the otherFG trees have succumbed to the burden of the heavy snow. Nice winter scene.
Hi Joao,
My initial thought was the same as @Michael_Lowe and @John_Williams “bowed but not broken”. The larger tree appears as though it has weathered the storm while the smaller ones have not fared anywhere near as well their taller sibling. This tells a nice story of winter survival.
I see Jack Frost putting a spell on all these little trees freezing them in place. They are all hunkered down with lots of snow on them and he is standing tall as if throwing the spell over them. Sorry, overactive imagination here.
Maybe The protector? That larger tree bent over trying to protect the young.
In any case it’s a wonderful scene with an animated and intriguing main character and subjects.
Spot on exposure and great processing. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this one, Joao.
Joao, you have such an eye for the subtleties. In this picture it is the subtlety of light and of form that I find so captivating. The slender branch rising to the sky and the branches below laden with snow almost seeming to bow down. I love this diffuse kind of light. How graceful and lovely. It is so easy to walk past a scene like this .
Actually, I don’t love this image; I don’t intend to print it.
When I took it and edited it, I took it as a note. Nice, but not much more than that. In fact, I’ll have to reprocess it because there are some obvious problems.
For me, not being used to photographing in the snow, it was more of an opportunity to take advantage of—but mind you, it was good, I had fun, and I had a good experience. That’s more important to me than having the image in my portfolio or printed large.
