You had some tough, challenging light conditions but used it to your advantage. You used the shadows as the main elements in the composition. I think that’s the right way to approach such conditions. Still, there is a major hot spot near the center that really draws attention. Personally I avoid light like this and in the forest - that’s where I avoid it the most. So this is quite an accomplishment from that point of view.

I never would have guessed this was winter with all that greenery, Ben. The lighting conditions look a bit challenging, but you handled them reasonably well with the exception of the one bright area toward the center which pulls my eye somewhat. Tone that down a little and I think you nailed it. This is a lovely woodland scene.
