The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
This photograph gave me the feeling of beauty and strength at the same time. It was a wonderful moment to take in just looking at it, and worth the time it took to get there.
Specific Feedback
Any thoughts on improving the composition would be great.

Tom, you found a wonderful scene. I like the colors in the image and the overall feel. I find the brighter yellow on right hand side along with the brighter green in the bottom right hand corner a bit distracting or slightly unbalanced compared to the larger darker green pines on the left . You may want to experiment with taking it out or trying different aspect ratios. Here is an alternative 4x5 crop.
Tom, this is a very pleasant and inviting woodland scene. The framing of the fall colors in the back and the matching tones in the grass works well. I do think this would look better with less green on the left, placing that tree trunk closer to the edge (as in Bryan’s first suggestion).
Thank you for your thoughtful comments! I do like the crop using the 16:9 aspect ratio. I went back to my editing software and cropped the image in 16:9 as you suggested.
As a new member, I’m uncertain if it is customary to post the edited image on NPN?
Tom,
I’ve had people rework some images when they are in the critique category and have them posted to help with the critique. You can always state your preference in the critique. I’ll also check the site guidelines and confirm. Sometimes see a change to the image helps the person seeking feedback.
Bryan
Thank you Bryan. I learned from David that to add to a current photo, to say add two or three more images, I need to delete the first post and then repost all of them in a sequence. Lots to learn
What a lovely scene you have captured here! I like how the grass in the FG lead the eye into the image and the nice trees in the BG. I also like that you have framed the scene with the green parts on the left and right border.
One idea could be to tone down the leaves at the right hand border since they are taking away some attention from the nice trees in the middle of the image. Below you see a quick example, there I have also slightly darkened all of the edges, croped a little at the left border and increased the brightness and saturation a tad in the centre of the image.
Thank you, Ola for your suggestions! I’m in the beginning stages of learning how to use Capture One Pro so I will try these edits on my computer and see how it goes. I have a series of photos that I am going to post along with this one and will keep in mind your recommendations in mind.
