Young Grizzly on the Move

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

This was from our last trip to Yellowstone a few y ears back. This was one of a pair of young grizzlies that come down to the East Entrance Road near Cub Creek. We were the first car to arrive and had a nice viewing session for quite a few minutes. This one ended up coming down to the ditch on the other side of the road straight across from us and drug something dead and disgusting back up the road bank to chew on for a while. We will be back up there in about a week.

Specific Feedback

I feel this could have been sharper. It was handheld from a car window.

Technical Details

Canon 5DMiii, f7.1, 1/320 sec, iso 640, 100-400 lens at 230 mm, in car from about 60 feet away. Topaz denoise and sharpen.

Nice pose you caught Ed with the bear moving down the hill. The sharpness on the bear seems to be a little bit off. Iā€™m wondering if the shutter speed was a just a tad too slow given the bear is moving. Still a fine catch.

Thanks @Allen_Sparks. Yesterday we saw five black bears in Yellowstone NP. One mom with two cubs. One sub adult and one adult. Monday we saw a grizzly mom and cub and had a great session with a nice grizzly, I think male. Will post when we get back in a few weeks.
