Your Move

Image Description

On my way back from a shoot I noticed these shadows from the trees along the edge of the beach. I wanted to try a few different comps with the stones but a wave washed them away after a couple shots.

Specific Feedback and Self-Critique

I wonder what It would have looked like if the foreground was in focus. I think the shallow DOF creates a greater sense of separation between the rocks.

Hi Andre

This is really cool.
i love your concept, the tension between those two tiny rocks, and the way you present them.
By letting the first rock, both on shadow/dark and out of focus, really gives the “stage” to the other rock to “do the move”

Very nice.

Hi Andre. I like this image a lot. The alternating light & dark steps really draw my gaze into the frame. I find that I don’t linger or focus on the immediate foreground so to me, it doesn’t need to be in focus. I love the balance in the frame by the two stones (if that’s what they are) first the dark one & then the lighter one. Overall, your photo just has a great sense of balance to it, overall.

@joaoquintela @Kris_Wyman thanks for the comments.
