I never tire of observing harbor seals when up in Maine. Sometimes they’re curious and will pop up near your kayak for a closer look.

A nice image of the Harbor Seal, Jim. The kayak gave you a good angle and the head-on look works well. I have mixed feelings about these. I was on my first training trip in my brand new kayak and one kept trying to climb aboard! A bit nervous making to say the least.
Jim, the head on view really captures the curiosity. The muted colors look good also. It looks like your focus was in front of the sea lion as there’s notable blurring of the lion, especially seen in the highlights on its nose. Having done some shooting from a kayak, I know the challenge when both you and your subject are moving…
