The light certainly is wonderful. Some times there is no necessity for wildlife to do anything other than assume a pose that shows off how beautiful it can be. You captured that beauty very well here.
As noted, the light is gorgeous and creates some lovely water reflections, Don. I also like the way it lights up the clump of reeds behind the heron. You might look at trying to recover the blown highlights on the egret’s back, though they’re not a very significant part of the image, so it’s not a huge deal.
Jim and Dennis, thank you. It was certainly terrific light.
Beautiful image and gorgeous light. I enjoy seeing the long necked poses of these birds. I also noticed the blown highlights on the bird - maybe worth a tweak.
Don,
One could not ask for better light! That is just jaw dropping light and almost any subject would look good in it. You did a wonderful job of highlighting the heron, it is just glowing!, Even the reflection has pop. Really nice work.
Allen, Youssef, thanks very much.
I need to remember to stop down when photographing egrets. I thought I’d recovered the highlights as much as I could but I did a little more tinkering. Is this any better?
Very nice on the repost. Probably a couple of small spots, but not enough to worry about.
Beautiful light - great re-post.
A little centered, but a fine image
