A Curious Bear

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

Dappled light played on the face of this curious bear in Tweedsmuir National Park, the largest in BC. I prefer bnw wildlife images as it concentrates focus on the facial expression and textures and tonal contrasts.

Technical Details

Laura, the lighting does a great job of showing off the bear and it’s expression.

I’m impressed with this Laura, what a great shot.
You have controlled the blacks and whites well in such a high contrast subject. There is also enough retained background detail to add interest and context.

I really like this capture. I am a B&W fan and this sure does work. Well done.

Laura,

Wonderful photograph. That bear looks like a big cuddly teddy bear with that expression and posture. The B&W choice was a great one.

Sorry for the late reply. Thanks for your input. Much appreciated.

Thanks Youssef. Yes, it was his expression; he looks bemused or curious. He definitely is a cuddly bear.
