A few of my favourite images from the year, I don’t think I’ve shared some of these here yet.
I really wanted to use this as an opportunity to say thanks. I’ve learned so much this year thanks to my membership of NPN and I’m convinced my images have improved as a result. So… thanks!

Dom, there are a fine collection. I especially like the subtlety of the colors and shapes in 2 & 3. The oceanside view is quite striking with the strongly eroded rocks and their gentle colors contrasting well with the stormy sky and long view.
BTW, if you give them a descriptive title when you convert them to NPN standards, that title will show up as a viewer looks at the large view. (Especially with a collection like this, it makes ID easier.)
Wonderful photos. I really like number 2 and 6, especially 2. The seascape is striking as well. But the mood in 2 is where I want to be. Thanks for sharing and yes, NPN is a great place to improve one’s photography.
Hi Dom,
This is a lovely set of images for the year 2024. The soft subdued light in every scene is outstanding with #'s two and five being my favorites. # two has this soft delicate feel to it; almost oriental in mood while # five has those wonderful pastel colors that are so inviting. If you do not mind me asking where was the seascape taken? I too think NPN is the perfect place to grow and improve one’s photography.
@Ed_Lowe it was taken at Watergate Bay in Cornwall, UK. We’ve visited there every year for the past several and I’m always trying to find interesting compositions. It’s a great photography location, high crumbling cliffs, rock pools etc. It’s funny, when I took this one I didn’t think that much of it, probably only spent a few minutes composing it, but once edited it became a firm favourite - both as a nice photo but also as a memory of a family holiday (and a few minutes escape with my camera during!)
Dom: NPN is indeed a great place to learn. I’m approaching 20 years as a member and I’m still learning and picking up tips from the wonderful folks here. I’ve not been to you corner of the world so I appreciate your depictions of it. I agree with the others regarding the woodland scenes and I also like the water lily and how you composed that particular place. Great to have you aboard here and wishing you great subjects and light in 2025.
