A Flying Bison

We stopped to watch a young Bison and it’s mother rejoining the rest of the herd, when the youngster (a this year’s calf, 6 months old) got totally frisky and started racing towards the herd. While I wish for more of a side on, frame filling view catching it will all four feet in the air was good fun. (7D2, 100-400 @ 234, 1/500 s, f/10, iso 800, tripod, 81% of full frame) (Now if only I could learn to zoom and focus at the same time.)

Wow, an Airborne Bison. Too much fun, Mark. I love it.

Great look at this youngster having some fun.

Mark, at least it was going in the right or wrong direction away from you… :cowboy_hat_face:
I mean, can you see the impact that critter could do at that speed. I’d had a couple close encounters with some bison a few times in the Teton area. In each case I did my best to give them a WIDE berth around each one…

Wonderful!!! Definitely going in the right direction. The focus looks great to me.
