A rocky roundtable

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

This image shows a number of rocky outcrops at a coastal bluff that is the well-known site of a southern lighthouse in our neck of the woods.
The circular arrangement of the outcrops has always fascinated me, and whenever I see it I imagine a meeting of rocks and then wonder what they are discussing.

Hi Phil,
This is so cool. It does look as though the rocks are huddling as they get set to discuss the hot topic of the day. The B&W processing looks good and has a nice range of tones.I also like the soft light on the rocks with the moody darker clouds overhead. Very nicely done; no suggestions from me.

A well composed and processed image. I have no suggestions on how to improve it.

This image certainly has an emotional pull to it. The stark rocks under that moody sky is a good combination. The only suggestion would be to add more space at the bottom. And not a lot more.

Thankyou for your kind comments Ed.

Thanks Michael. Much appreciated.

Thanks Igor. Yes, I agree with your comment regarding the bottom of the image however there were a couple of rocks there that didn’t fit the composition I wanted. Also, call me old-fashioned but I don’t like to ‘expand the canvas’ with somenthing that wasn’t in the original scene. Cheers.
