The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

This is the stacked image of Star Stuck posted in Macro. Our succulents keep on producing widely diverse flower types. This is the first time this plant has bloomed and the flowers are altogether different than the others.

Specific Feedback

Used a lite disc diffuser to tame the sun and removed a couple of petal ends intruding into the right side. Should the petal end in the URC go away?

Nice job, Bill. I like the arrangement you achieved out of what looks pretty chaotic at first glance. I didn’t notice that petal end until you mentioned it and now it’s quite intrusive, so I’d zap it.

Wonderful!! I love the BG detail you have here, with emphasis on the unusual flowers. The composition caught this one just right and the stack was the right idea.

I keep adopting succulents from local nurseries (who can resist them?) and our ground squirrels keep destroying them – apparently just for sport.

This is a fascinating plant Bill and a very attractive representation that you’ve captured. I like your composition showing most of it rather than just a flower or two; including the foliage and buds adds a lot of interest. Nice light and good job on the stacking too.

Such tiny little things. I like their crisp aspect compared to the softer leaves. I wonder how they look to insects that can see infrared. The way the branches grow and separate reminds me of something aquatic which is funny given the type of plant this is. Removing that little leaf was the way to go. Other than some rather abrupt fall off areas of where the stack ends, the process looks like it worked well for the main subjects.

Bill, I missed this one when I was freezing in Japan (-5 degrees).
Unusual flower, really nice detail, and I love the diagonal lines of the stems.
