Bluebird summer day Sonora Pass
Critique Style Requested: Standard
The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
Captured last summer up on Sonora Pass. Late morning, bluebird skies… hmmmm, what can we do and have fun with? ICM’s of course! This multiple exposure ICM was taken from the vantage point in the included pic. I don’t normally share the original scene, but since the pine trees are fairly obvious, I thought it would be interesting to see the landscape that was the source of both images.
I had just recorded the Fireweed ICM about 45min prior to this image, and maybe a 1/4 mile down the pass. This was also the first time that I combined ICM’s from 2 different scenes; not different locations, but different selections within the same general landscape. You can see the stand of lodgepole pine in the cell shot, along with the slope of the granite slopes of Sonora Pass. I was pretty surprised and happy combining to different landscapes in to a single abstract.
Specific Feedback
Any thoughts beyond, “how did he do that?” This one where at least part of the subject is recognizable, but familiarity stops there.
What was your impression?
One thing I’m trying to showcase is the concept that not all photography has to be done during the golden or blue hour… or sunset, sunrise or dramatic weather lighting… you can create images anytime, anywhere. Which is why I rarely get good rest when I’m out photographing nature!
Of course any and all comments and suggestions welcome!
Technical Details
Nikon Z7ii 28-400mm @70mm, f/22 1/4s @iso 31.
In camera, ICM 2-image multiple exposure; dark blending mode. 2 exposures, 2 ICM’s, combined in camera; a vertical motion combined with diagonal motion. (Not necessarily the same exact scene or framing). You get the idea from the wider cell phone image with the vehicle.
