Aging

As part of an exploration of this logging field I have a series of images which to me reflect the aging process we too experience. Trees too have their individual life history, scars, strengths and weaknesses, stages of aging, patterns and defects. Think Ill post a few of these and see if they resonates with any of you.

I think this abstract works very well. With texture and shapes like this, it was made for B&W. The lines and shapes also have a nice, dynamic visual flow to them created by how you composed this. The comp also feels well balanced with 3 distinct sections to it, each with the line moving in a different direction. So overall I like this a lot, it has strong visual impact, and works well as an abstract.

I really like the radiating pattern of the grain of the wood in the LLC, and would suggest some dodging of the lighter tones in the LLC to place ore emphasis on that wood grain. Here is a rework where I brought that up a bit.

THanks Ed, @Ed_McGuirk . I do think the dodging helps bring more of the image into the equation.
