Alaska Grizz

from my last trip to Alaska in July. North of Anchorage.
I was a great deal farther away than this looks, and in the car anyway.

A very nice pose and surroundings, Sandy. When I look closely, particularly in the larger image, the processing to the bear carried out into the surrounding grasses a bit, particularly on the bottom side of the critter, but a bit all around. You might want to go around the edge of the bear layer with the eraser to smooth that transition out.

Very good observation from Dennis Plank and I echo his comments.
Not sure, but at some places looks like copy-paste job !??

No copy/paste, just an unfinished image! Lassooed the bear to lighten him up a little and did a poor job on the edges.
Filled in 2 small bare spots with grass.
will finish and re-post.

Hi Sandy,

I would leave the bear dark, and might do an adjustment layer with shadows & highlights to brighten up the shadows slightly. I would also sharpen it less in your final version. It doesn’t really need that much as it is a very sharp bear. I’d like to see one of these within range of my lens (not my 180mm macro LOL)…Jim
