This image was captured last week on Isla Espanola (Hood Is). We planned the trip around the mating season for the Waved Albatross, and the tour at this point in the trip was staying on San Cristobal. A speedboat trip was necessary to visit Hood, and by the time we arrived on the birds the light was casting some shadows. In light of our mid-morning arrival we still managed a few images to record the incredible sights occurring all around us.

Nice close-up look at the action of this pair.

Great interaction and beautiful birds, Chuck. You handles the shadows quite nicely. The bit of tan on the heads looks a bit more forgiving of harsh light that the Laysans’ white heads.

Hi Charles,
Nice close up of these birds with fine exposure. Lovely interaction portrayed. Well done.

Excellent color, detail, and action in this dual behavioral portrait. Well composed with nice depth of field.

A very nice, intimate portrait of an intimate couple, Charles! Exposure, colors and details are excellent.
