American Kestrel

A nemesis bird that always seems to fly off before I can get close enough. Still, this required a very large crop in LR.

Wonderful pose, perch and detail! (They don’t like me, either.) It feels awkward to me with all the visual weight in the left half. I wonder if it’s possible to move the subject a little to the left?

Hi Allen
The Kestrel looks great, the morning sun helps to bring out its’ browns, grays and white feather. I think Diane has a point about the space on the hand side of the frame.

The kestrel is showing some degradation of image quality due to the crop. Adding more space to the left and right may reduce this effect. I like the colors and overall comp. I have been waiting for one to be close enough where a satisfactory shot can be had. Well done…Jim

I agree with the comments concerning the comp. Still, this is an excellent look at a difficult to photograph bird.
