An earlier Japanese Lily

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

I was going back to compare my recent lily images to those shot several years ago at the same location, and thought this one was worth sharing. It’s from 2019, and not a stack. Stacking was more trouble back then, involving incrementing focus with the ring, so I didn’t do it as much.

Minor global tonal tweaks in LR. Into PS for some low-opacity cloning for some BG cleanup. I didn’t mess with the lovely OOF BG pink bloom – that was in-camera.

It looks like f/13 did the trick very nicely, Diane. The background was far enough away that it still blurred out nicely.

oooh that’s some lickable light. I love the dappling and the way it changes the colors on the petals. The water droplets are a nice touch, too. Glad you dug this out of the files for us - no stacking needed!
