This all works for me with a sharp hummer, colorful flower, and pleasing background. Well captured.

The A1 really shines here, being able to photograph the saturated reds, with good detail is saying something and to top if all off catching the Hummingbird in the freeze frame at 1/1000 is increasable.

This is a very nice hummingbird photo, David! I love the rich but natural colors and the classic composition. Like Peter, I was surprised at the small amount of wing blur for a shutter speed of 1/1000. I suspect that is primarily because the wings were perpendicular to the line of sight when the shutter opened, resulting in movement directly toward or away from the camera which would result in much less observed movement relative to the actual movement.
