ANNA'S

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

This is an anna’s hummingbird that’s been coming in to our Cleveland sage and I got this capture.

Specific Feedback

It’s kinda busy but, to my eye, she stands out from the BG enough that I don’t feel the need to clone out a lot of it. What say you? Cropping?

Technical Details

Z9, 180-600 lens, Nikon 1.4 TC, monopod, 1/3200th, f 9.0, 720mm, ISO 7200, cropped to 4970 x 3580

1/3200 did a good job of stopping the wings, Dave. She stands out pretty well, but those bright stems still pull my eye away from her quite a bit. Unfortunately, they would be a real pain to try to clone out without messing with the in-focus bloom and bird.

Very nice pose and detail in the hummer and the blue flowers add a lot. To some extent the hummer seems a little lost in the frame. You might try using the remove tool in PS to eliminate the stems in the LLC.
