Another Kingfisher morning

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

Went again to the neighborhood lake this morning to try for the kingfisher. I’m lucky that there are two bushes on shore with enough room in between for a shooting lane. I sat in a field stool about 60 feet from the bird and I don’t think he ever knew I was there.

Any comments appreciated.

Another great trio of kingfisher images, Allen. I really like the last one with the grooming pose. At 60 feet these are amazing. How much cropping did you end up having to do on these?

Hi Dennis and thanks!
Very little cropping. The bird is quite large in the original frame. 800mm x 1.6 crop factor = 1280 full frame equivalent.

Forgot you were using a crop factor camera on this, Allen.

You really get some amazing Kingfisher shots, Allen. Excellent poses and detail and a pleasing background.

Oh!! Holy Wow! These are great. The bird has given you such lovely poses in all three images. Colours are terrific. (Not that I know what this kingfishers colours are.) Wondrful background and a neat little perch.

These guys are so hard to catch, and this is a splendid set. Well done!
