Just another pretty vista from yesterday that I didn’t plan on posting anywhere just because as is usual for me in fall, I am getting grumpy haha. Just sick of the “head to the mountain top, hope for good conditions and shoot” mentality that is hard to get away from here in Korea. Still, it is a landscape that might be interesting to others especially those who have never been to Korea so still worth a share. The peak in the distance is called Maisan, which in the Chinese character origin of the name means horse ears mountain.
Thanks for sharing, it looks like a beautiful Country! With scenes like that I might be inclined to head to the mountain top as well.
Incredibly beautiful and I love the composition has nice features in multiple places.
Of course the low level clouds/fog make the image but the golden light on the side accenting quite a few parts is lovely, the lone tree on the left is quite the bonus and well composed into the landscape, lastly the really unique looking prominent mountain in the background. It all works for me.
If I were to tweak at all it would be to give a little more room on the left for that tree, it is a nice feature but a little close to the left edge for me. If you give that some room I would then also add in some more sky to keep the same ratio. May want to also darken the very immediate foreground a little more until where the sunlight line kicks in.
Well seen and composed image though. I would want to go to the top of those mountains all of the time if the fog/low clouds often looked that way.
Have never been to Korea so I appreciate sharing the image, Nathanial. Might want to decrease the exposure on the top left corner just a little where the light is streaming in, and maybe work some clarity or contrast on the lower left of the fog cloud. Some terrific cool tones presented contrasting with the warmer foliage colors. Nice image.
Thank you for sharing this Nathaniel, Korea looks like it is very beautiful in autumn. There are a lot of interesting elements in this image to attract the viewers attention, and the use of the panoramic framing helps to hold them together nicely. Agree with Matt on adding a little space to the left of the tree. The light are color here are fantastic, and I like your processing of it.
There is some really neat stuff going on in the right side of the image with the fog and mountains, I hope you grabbed a telephoto and extracted some images out of that area too.
This is a really cool image Nathaniel and thats not just because I’ve never been to Korea. I don’t think it matters whether you are on a mountain top or in a valley or whatever as long as you connect with the image and are happy with what you got.
On the cc side I think it’s nicely processed and a generally great shot. Only thing would be to give the tree a bit more room on the left. But that’s neither here nor there and works as it is
I like it a lot! Not a shot I have seen and it’s really cool. Interesting topic. Sometimes I really think about trying to be an artist and create, but other times it’s enjoyable to just capture the art nature puts together:)
My eye just dances around the light and layers in this image, beautifully composed. The pano crop is very nice! Perhaps a slight bit more texture to the front fog or smidge more room to the side for the tree, but really just so pleasing as is.
