Another Steller's Jay

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

I like the contrasting warm and cool colors and the mouth open pose. This was taken with the jay facing the late afternoon sun. Taken in eastern Oregon; a different feel from my previous jay image taken in foggy, wet western Oregon.

Specific Feedback

Any thoughts appreciated.

Technical Details

Canon R5; 100-500 at 500 mm; 1/1000 at f7.1; ISO 4000

Another nice Steller’s image, Allen. I like the open beak as they always seem to be scolding something. The difference in lighting makes this a whole different image, though I suspect the eastern birds might be a little paler depending on how often they cross over the mountains to interbreed.

Nicely done, Allen. I have no suggestions.

Hi Allen, excellent image. Love pose with the open beak and the great head turn. Pleasing background. Details look very nice also. Well done.

Sorry for the blank post.

I love this post, beautiful subject, very sharp with great color of the background. I don’t remember ever seeing a Steller Jay and I think finding different subjects is part of my passion. I guess I need a trip out west!
