Steller Stare

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

I got this steller’s jay checking me out while being side lit by the early morning sun. It was thinking about going to a nearby hanging suet block.

Specific Feedback

I cropped the botton a bit close to the tip of its tail. It seemed about right for the cropping. Yeah?

Technical Details

Z9, 180-600 lens, Nikon 1.4 TC, monopod, 1/1600th, f 8.0, 525mm, ISO 8000, cropped to 3291 x 2445

Tough call on the crop, Dave. My personal taste would be to give it a bit more room on the bottom and add a touch of canvas on the right if you have it and it’s not too full of ugly stuff. Nice job on the jay.

Hi Dave, nice pose with fine details on the bird. Good view of the raised crest. I could see adding more room on the bottom. Good catch.
