During an afternoon near the Svaneholm castle in Skåne, Sweden, I took a number of autumn leaves photos. These trees on a small hill is the fourth picture.
I like the concept of the image, it’s kind of a classic scene to use a wide lens to get this keystoning effect with autumn trees. However I think a few technical issue hold this one back for me. I think the black point is set too deep, which blocks up the shadows in the trees, I’d try backing off the the black point some. Yes the sky is not blown out, but the rest of the images too dark for me, I would like to see more detail in the leaves on the ground and in the tree trunks. Regarding composition, I think the black trunk in the upper right corner has a lot of visual weight and is a distraction for me. I’d would crop this way if it were mine. To a lesser degree there is a similar issue in the upper left corner.
