Hi chris, this is a beautiful image and I can definitely see the face in the rock but I keep getting distracted by the bright colors in the bottom of the frame that pull me away from the face. So maybe you can find a way to reduce the brightness in the bottom (for example with graduated filter). I think that will make the face more apparent and easy to see. I love the colors both of the rock and the water and it is a nice find.
Gorgeous image, the pastel tones are beautiful and really create a harmonious palette across the whole image.
I really like the symmetry you have on the water reflection but i wish there was a bit more information on the sides, having a longer aspect ratio could give more information on the surroundings.
Hi, Chris, what a beautiful color palette you have captured here! The pastel colors of gold and pink shine through strongly in the image. Add to that the reflections and you have a great combination for a striking photo. I agree with @tamar-aharony’s point about the distracting bottom of the frame. It does have beautiful tonality, but it also keeps my eyes away from the rock. I’d hate to lose that section via a crop. Perhaps the gradient he suggests would do the trick. The image is simply gorgeous.
Chris, the face shows clearly (presumably why it has it’s name…). Your comp. works well at emphasizing face rock and the sunrise colors add a great sense of warmth and calm. Technically, the reflection at the bottom are not brighter, they’re more saturated since they’re darker. The reflections of the gaps between the rocks do a good job of leading from the bottom into the frame, to the subject. The subtle color shifts in the sky are very true to life, like the clear sky sunrises and sunsets (while looking East) that I’ve been watching recently. The touch of mist is also a fine extra.
