Bald Eagle II

Same eagle, same perch, nearly the same pose, but shot from closer and a different angle, thus giving a light sky background instead of the woodland. I don’t mind the sky too much, but I do wish it had a bit more contrast with the white head. Unfortunately the cloud cover was building up behind the bird.

What technical feedback would you like if any?

I brought the darks up quite a bit relative to the sky. Do they look OK?

What artistic feedback would you like if any?

Does this closer composition work or is it ruined by the bright background.

It looks like the ‘X’ marks the hot spot of this photo, Dennis! The back shot shows of the Eagle’s plumage nicely and you got excellent focus and detail, especially visible in the large version. Nice capture!

Only nit here is seems like too much foliage detracts from the fine shot of the bird. If some twigs were removed might better see the attractive “X” formed by the two large branches.
