About This Image

I am starting to play around with Infrared. I am using a Hoya 72 R filter and working with black and white. I have tried false color but it just hasn’t worked for me. I am interested in the feed back when looking at B&W and Infrared compared to the original., Anyone else who has experience with infra red, pleas chime in. I think that I will get a converted camera with 850 and just work with B&W. The biggest appeal to Infrared i taking landscape in bright light as apposed to early or late light.

OM-1 Markll, OM 50 200mm lens, 73mm(146), f/4.0. ISO 200, 1/1250 sec. Infrared exposure 10.0 sec. Tripod.

LR conversion to B&W and Infrared conversion.

Hi Charlie. I like the B&W conversion of the original. The IR doesn’t appeal to me personally, though I know a lot of people who like the effect. You have a nice composition in these with great sky which does still come through in the IR. In the B&W conversion, You might play with some color filters in the conversion of the sky to really make it pop. Personal prejudice: I’d get rid of the light and post as it feels like an anachronism in this scene.
