Description
On my visit yesterday to the state park pond, I saw two fairly active kingfishers. They flew from perch to perch and dove for fish (unsuccessfully).
One even perched in a tree a short distance from me. Makes me wonder if they are juveniles. In any event, glad to see them back at the pond.

This is very well done series of belted kingfisher. Great work
Sorry about the complaint that follows. I figured it out finally.
Wow! Gorgeous! The environmental shots are wonderful but the portrait is special! I could never get close enough to one to even raise the camera.
Excellent series!!! The lighting looks amazing especially on the last image. The pose on the portrait image is fantastic with the spiking feathers up top and just the overall body shape/position. It is just interesting! So many avian portraits that I take are blah… Nice work here!
Nice series! All are with fine detail, great poses, and action.
The first posed one is my vote for best, with the crown raised and mough open.
Cool!
Excellent series, Allen. As others have noted, the portrait is awesome, but I also really like the second, though you might look at bringing down that one bright spot on the left wing. The third is really cool because it’s so hard to catch that action. Great work.
