Description

Could not resist photographing this mushroom, who found its way through tough bark.

Specific Feedback

Any and all feedback is welcome. I did <white out < the background as a test and really enjoyed the contrast it gave the image. Thoughts?

A great find, Simon, and the detail is superb. To my eye, it looks as if you might have pushed the contrast/saturation a bit further than necessary, but that’s definitely a matter of opinion. I like the way you composed this image. Very nicely done.

Thank Dennis

I appreciate the comment and take it whole heartedly.

I am at the stage of my photography where color saturation can be exagerated so it’s great to have more opinions to help me focus on the right direction.

Simon: I like what you’ve done here turning a natural environment shot into almost a studio look. I had to think about what I was seeing and that is a good thing. Well conceived, captured and presented. >=))>

Simon, I too didn’t know at first what I was looking at! I had to bring it up in the large version and then finally it clicked. Well seen and captured.

Simon, this view gave me a chuckle as the 'shroom does seem to have fought it way into the light. Putting the shroom in at the center does give it emphasis. Have you tried cropping from the top to move the shroom up in the frame?

I did not have much wiggle room. You know how sometimes you take a quick photo during an outing and try to find something out of 200 photos you took. This was one of the few good ones and it was taken quite quickly. Very cold weather that morning.

Its part of photography I love that when you edit you find something that can be turned into something.
