I took this with my Pentax K20D and Tamron 75-300 set at 300 f/5.6 on bogen 3036 tripod and ball head iso 100, the metal “perch” is on my front porch, out of camera view to the right is a small bird house where the birds have built a nest.

Hi Timothy, These chickadees are really cute and make fine subjects. Interesting pose from the bird with a bit of food in its mouth and catchlight in the eye. As far as suggestions, the bird seems kind of soft so I’m wondering if this was a sizable crop. For future I’d also considering placing the subject less centered in the frame. Look forward so seeing more.
Hi Timothy. I agree with Allen’s critique. Only thing I’d add is that perhaps try to bring in some natural perches for the birds.
