Around this time of year the Black-headed Grosbeaks show up here much to my delight. I not only love the way they look but also think that they have a very pleasant song. Here’s one in my backyard near a feeder. D500, Nikon 200-500 lens, Nikon 1.4 TC, monopod/gimbal head, 1/1000th, f.8.0, 650mm, ISO 1400, AI Clear, cropped to 4081 x 2978

A nice composition. Good detail in the grosbeak; nice perch and background. I like the angle of the perch and that the bird is parallel to it-gives it a more dynamic sense than a level perch and upright bird.
