About This Image
Greetings, Friends. Hope you are all doing well. Happy 4th of July to all my American friends.
It has been a while since I posted here. I have been rather out of photography over the last year or so, but recently had a chance to go back to one of my favorite birding spots here in Utah for some summer photography where I captured this image.
I heard this black-necked stilt behind a wall of reeds squabbling with other birds and would frequently see it fly out. It would alight a little away from me and then fly back, calling continuously. I caught this moment when it flew by and was calling at the same time.

The original image was a little too tight in the bottom and I added some canvas there. Would love to hear what you think of the image and the composition.

The bird is beautifully lit and this brings out its colors very well. I also like how the curve of the bird is mirrored by both the grasses and the hill in the BG. Excellent composition.

This is a very strong image. The wing position feels powerful and calling is just perfect. Nice job on the bottom area. Can’t tell that it is generated. Well done.

Excellent, Govind. I really like the calling/flying pose and the background is exquisite with the well blurred hints of the environment, even out to the background mountains. I hope you’ve been having fun and that you’ll be able to get back into photography and do some more posting.

Thank you, all for your feedback. Last couple of years were busy with some personal stuff - nothing serious, just a bunch of stuff that took up my time. Hope to participate more this year.
