About This Image

Early morning on the harbor of the American River on Kangaroo Island enjoying a beautiful sunrise when we came on a few black swans. This particular swan was positioned nicely in the light. A great way to start the day.

Hi Tim, I’ve never seen a black swan before but with this background it’s stunning. Great silhouette!!

Thanks Alice. It was a beautiful morning and like so often a matter of just happening to be in the right place at the right time.

Timothy, the reflections in the water around the swan make an excellent and colorful photo. I think centering the swan works very well here while the gentle changes in dof add some nice bottom to top eye flow.
