Black Throated Green Warbler

The Other Side

Critique Style Requested: Standard

Description

This was the most cooperative warbler I’ve ever had the opportunity to encounter. He calmly sat there on this little branch about fifteen feet from the boardwalk at the Convention Center in South Padre Island Texas.

Sharp and nicely textured. I like the POV. And the comp. I might remove the small OOF below the feet of the second image. Well done!

Hi Ed, nice look at this warbler. Details and exposure on the bird look good to me. I could see darkening the stick in the second image. The oof foreground in the first image is a bit distracting but I know how tough it is to get these birds at all. Fine captures.

Thank you @David_Schoen, I see how that little OOF branch is distracting. I’ll work on that.

Thank you @Allen_Sparks, I will work on darkening the perch. I think I did that when I raised the shadows a bit on the bird.

I particularly like the first image, Ed. Excellent detail and it really shows off the plumage. I agree that the out of focus foreground is a bit of a pain-you just needed to grow a foot real quick to avoid it. The fluffed out feathers and head turn in the second are very nice.
