The blue background is the Siuslaw River. The rocks are part of the jetty at the mouth of the river. Fairly common bird to see in this locale in the fall/winter months.

He’s a nice looking bird, Allen. I like his head turn, 3/4 view of him. The background of water makes him stand out, and the blues are a nice complimentary color for him.

A pleasant crisp image with superb detail and BG. Might also work well with less aqua blue space.
I really like the composition and the detail in the rocks with that soft water background. Somehow, the Turnstone looks just a tad soft compared to the rocks and I’m not sure how that happens.
