I like this very much, Ben. It is the combination of the faded colours, which evoke a sense of a summer’s day, and that dark opening between the grasses that is both mysterious and inviting that make this compelling for me. I wonder if a slight crop, (staying with the 2:3 aspect ratio and cropping from the bottom and little bit from both sides) serves to improve the image by removing the clump at the bottom left as well as a few odds and ends left centre, and the bit of green bottom right. In any case, very nicely seen.
Superb Ben! Such an unusual grass! I’ve never seen anything like it before; but would love too. Very nice composition, and I love the mystery of the small opening between the grasses and the low hanging limbs.
Really nice image.
I actually prefer your original comp, then with the deletion of that green clump in the lower left, as Kerry suggested.
A very peaceful and inviting scene.
Very well-seen and captured!
@Kerry_Gordon , @Bill_Chambers , @SandyR-B , It’s good to see the different insights and how compositional idea may vary. To me the reed LO brings your eyes back into the image and is therefore important. And @Bill_Chambers , that grass is just reed ! Thank you aal for this comments,
What a little slice of serenity Ben. The calm water with the mirror like reflection is a real treat for the viewer. I could see myself opening up my chair and reading my book. Nicely done!
