Description
I missed this image when I was working on my Blackwater Projects.
Maybe too subtle on a monitor but the background is a rich blue with the shadow a deep black.
Just printed a 16 x 20 and I am very happy with the print and color harmony.
Not sure how it will read on screen.

For some reason this makes me think of Kandinsky. The rework is definitely an improvement because it adds the dimension of color. I wonder how a closer crop would work that excludes the top and bottom leaves. It might make it more abstract looking. I’m not sure all that space around the pine needles is helpful.
Very nice!! I much prefer the top version. A tighter crop would also be a good thing to try.
Thanks @Igor_Doncov , and @Diane_Miller
I am drawn to negative space BUT crop 2 is my favorite.
A writer always has an editor.
You guys are visual editors and are making my images better.
Thanks for the time you put in.
@Igor_Doncov Your art history amazes me. I looked up Kandinsky the frist image that came up I saw the visual link.

Yes, he uses geometric shapes in his work often. And balanced color.
The fun part, though, is when an image straddles reality and total abstraction.
Crop 1 for me. Today. I’m not sure why. I have to be with a bit longer.
Crop 1 feels good to me without feeling too tight while crop 2 feels a smidgen cut off. I much prefer crop 1 and 2 to the other crops and the added contrast and saturation feel good. There are so many triangles in this image. It’s a geometric masterpiece. I love the creeping shadow in the background as well.
