Blue-Eyed Darner Patrolling the Pond

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

This blue-eyed darner was zooming past me when I managed to capture him. These dragonflies are common in the West, but this is the first specimen I’ve seen this season.

OM Systems, OM-1 Mark II. Post-processing with Affinity Photo 2.

@russ_carpenter the detail on a flying dragonfly is no easy thing to pull. Very nicely done. Makes me think of Superman or some other flying super hero looking to stop some trouble.

Great shot. Very cool image. Catching this guy in flight had to be a real challenge. Real Done…

Excellent job, Russ. I was out at a local pond looking for dragonflies yesterday and I believe this was the only species I saw (not very good at dragonfly ID). I need to study your settings as I wasn’t too happy with the wings I got.

Russ: I’m just about to believe that you know what you’re doing on these flight shots :winking_face_with_tongue:. “Gear up and go” immediately came to mind. Great capture. >=))>

One of your best. I don’t have any nits for you because, I see no reason to change anything with this comp. Awesome!..Jim
