I have no idea why there is a big blob on the right upper portion of the image. It wasn’t there in the small version or the image I downloaded.
Something looks really strange with this image, Patricia. In addition to the dark blob in the upper right, all the foliage looks weird. You might try double checking your image and uploading it again.
Hi Patricia,
The blue jay looks pretty good. Looks like there was an issue during production of the jpeg. Looks like a masking layer was interpolated into the image. Please repost after you figure out what’s going on…Jim
Have no idea how to remove this image. Any suggestions?
I don’t think you can remove it, Patricia. However, you can just post the revised image in a comment. There’s no additional size restriction on images in comments. It’s the same upload icon you use to post.
Patricia, you got a good pose, head turn and eye contact. Too bad about the funky stuff in the image. However there are still some black blobs in the pine needles. Hopefully you can figure it out. In the meantime you may want to post this in Discussions Postprocessing section, as someone may be able to help.
Well, you got rid of the blob, Patricia, but as Bill noted, the needles still look really strange. I’ve never seen that effect before, so I haven’t a clue what would cause it.
A nice pose from the Jay. You must have been very close to get this at 180 mm. Even with that relatively short lens, if you could, it would be better to go with a smaller aperture for this pose. the tail forward really makes it difficult to get the entire bird in crisp focus. You managed quite well, but there is a bit of softness in the head, A bit more sharpening there might help.
